Kyle Busch swept all 3 races at the Bristol Motor Speedway over the weekend to shake up the Sprint Cup standings in NASCAR as well as in Scarman Racing. Kyle's win resonated with 13 teams, ensuring a spot in The Chase for lucas_racing (hardly a surprise) and gave 14 other teams a shot at qualifying regardless of their final position in the standings. Two races left and those teams all have either 3 or 4 race winners during the season. One surprising development...after scoring 5 points at Michigan I gave Richards a comfortable position in the standings relative to qualifying for The Chase. Well, follow that up with 92 points at Bristol and now that team is right back on the hot seat, sitting in 24th spot! Top dog kudos from last week go to Old 600 who placed all five driver selections into the Top Ten and totaled the low score of 28 points. That team now sits in the transfer position (25th) for The Chase. Those proved to be outstanding picks while all of the teams that had Kyle picked to win also suffered misfortune with one or more of their other picks. With Jimmie Johnson, Denny Hamlin and Tony Stewart all finishing outside the Top 25 many scores were sent soaring. 2nd lowest score goes to jwing with 29 points and the 4th spot in the season standings. Enjoy the weekend off before the series heads to Atlanta and Richmond to complete The Race to the Chase. Movers: usnavykc(16th) and DallasBigDog(21st) both moved up 5 spots in the standings Losers: Richards(24th) lost eight positions Secured a spot in The Chase by virtue of five 2010 series race winners Two races left to accumulate those 5 winning selections or in the case of Slotcarguy, protect that 58 point lead and nail down 1st place. A lot of teams would like to secure a spot in The Chase to the Championship and not have to sweat it out these last couple of weeks. Below are the teams that can wrap up a spot this weekend at Atlanta: bneister Bets of Luck, |
